What’s Onside?
Onside is an independent advisory and consultancy platform supporting the organisations, leaders, and systems that shape high-performance sport. We work alongside national sporting organisations, institutes, and government partners to deliver expert, athlete-informed solutions that prioritise transparency, empowerment, and long-term sustainability.
We understand the pressures of elite sport and the structural gaps that can undermine safety, trust, and performance. That’s why Onside exists: to provide strategic, independent support in designing environments where people, not just performance, are protected and empowered.
Alongside our system-wide work, we also offer confidential, one-on-one advisory support for individuals navigating complex or high-stakes decisions. Whether you’re an athlete, executive, or support staff, you can access guidance that’s informed, impartial, and grounded in real experience.
Our work is built on lived experience and aligned with Australia’s Win Well Strategy. We help translate values like fairness, well-being, and resilience into tangible governance, policy, and education frameworks.
At Onside, we’re not just improving systems, we’re helping shape a future where sport is both high-performing and human-centred.
Independent. Confidential. On Your Side.
Who Are We
Bronwen Knox OLY LLB GACID - Founder, Onside HQ
Bronwen is a four-time Olympian, dual Olympic bronze medallist, and former captain of the Australian Women’s Water Polo Team. A lawyer and sport integrity specialist, she has more than two decades of lived experience in elite sport.
She has worked with Sport Integrity Australia and across multiple national sporting organisations, leading on athlete advocacy, governance, and complaints management. Her legal expertise and frontline experience give her a rare ability to navigate the complex intersections of integrity, performance, and athlete welfare.
Driven by what she has seen, and what has been missing, Bronwen founded Onside HQ to provide the independent and honest support she wished existed during her career. Her work bridges performance and protection, combining lived experience with legal rigour and a relentless commitment to building safer, stronger sporting environments.
